Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Located along the banks of Dubai Creek, in Dubai’s Old Town, is the splendid Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. In addition to an 18-hole golf course, the complex includes a five-star hotel, several luxury villas and a marina. The golf course’s iconic clubhouse is inspired by the sails of a dhow, a traditional Arab sailing vessel. Designed by Godwin Austen Johnson Chartered Architects, this remarkable clubhouse opened in 1993. The 18-hole course, which runs along the entire coastline, is surrounded by a 9-hole par 3 course.
Dubai Creek Golf Course is renowned as a true golfer’s paradise, offering striking views of Dubai’s impressive skyline, including the Burj Khalifa. So it’s no surprise that Golf Magazine has ranked this course among the top 100 “Must Play” golf courses in the world.
This impeccably maintained course features superb open fairways lined with coconut palms, bushes and date palms. It features a variety of obstacles, including vast stretches of water and cleverly positioned bunkers. Headwinds can make play difficult, especially on holes 17 and 18.
Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai
Close to the Emirates Hills district, often referred to as Dubai’s version of Beverly Hills, is the Address Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai. Also known as “The Montgomerie”, this golf course pays tribute to the famous golfer Colin Montgomerie, who collaborated with renowned course designer Desmond Muirhead to create this magnificent golf course in Dubai.
Spanning over 107 hectares, including 20 hectares of artificial lakes, 37 hectares of perfectly manicured gardens and 81 spacious bunkers, this 18-hole course offers an exceptional golfing experience.
Emirates Golf Club
Emirates Golf Club is Dubai’s oldest golf course and the centerpiece of Emirates GC, where numerous tournaments have been staged, including the Dubai Desert Classic, the Dubai Moonlight Classic and the PGA Tour. The Emirates Golf Club has two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course. It is renowned for its beautiful green fairways and challenging layouts.
In 1998, this golf course was built in the middle of the desert. Today, the golf course is surrounded by residential areas filled with luxurious villas and numerous skyscrapers rising above the trees. In 2006, the 18-hole Faldo Course was completely redesigned by golf legend Nick Faldo, after whom it is named. A special feature of the Faldo Course is that it is the only course in the region to be floodlit, making it possible to play golf at night. It’s ideal for playing in the cool of the evening during the hot summer months.
Dubai Hills Golf Club
Dubai Hills Golf Club is Dubai’s newest golf course, entirely designed in harmony with its natural surroundings. Its vast fairways follow the contours of the desert, punctuated by wadis, lakes and strategically placed bunkers, creating a varied and captivating landscape. With the Dubai skyline in the background, this course offers a unique golfing experience.
Inaugurated in 2018, this 18-hole course is suitable for all skill levels. It also features a floodlit driving range, allowing golfers to play even on warm summer evenings. Hole 5 at Dubai Hills is renowned for its difficulty, while hole 8 is the longest on the course. From the ninth hole onwards, the game becomes more demanding due to changing wind conditions.
Els Club
Nestled in the desert landscape of Sports City, the Els Club is distinguished by its rolling hills and natural vegetation. Like many other golf courses in Dubai, this one was designed by a professional: Ernie Els, also known as Big Easy. The former South African number one has a preference for British links courses, and drew inspiration from them for the design of this one. As a result, the course incorporates classic British elements as well as features from other world-renowned courses, such as the bunkers at Royal Melbourne and the undulating greens at Pinehurst No. 2 in the United States. The result is a unique links course, nestled in the desert, that can challenge even the most seasoned golfer.
JA The Resort Golf Course
Ja The Resort golf course is a 9-hole gem nestled near Jebel Ali Palm Island, part of the prestigious 5-star Jebel Ali Golf Resort. Picturesquely laid out, this course offers an exciting challenge for all levels of player. Each hole is carefully landscaped with unique features such as exotic trees, shrubs, wooden pergolas and a large saltwater lake.
Designed by Peter Harradine, every hole on the course offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Persian Gulf. Golfers who frequent the Jebel Ali course can also be delighted by the presence of strolling peacocks, as the course is a haven for many birds, including a large population of peacocks.
Arabian Ranches Golf
Arabian Ranches is an 18-hole golf course designed by Ian Baker-Finch. Located in the magnificent Arabian Ranches estate, this desert course offers a beautiful fairway where sand dunes and bushes provide the greatest challenge. The course is designed as a links where the wind can certainly play tricks. This golf course may not be the most challenging in Dubai, but its desert layout makes it a must-see course during your stay in Dubai.

Jumeirah Golf Estates
Jumeirah Golf Estates is one of the courses on the DP World Tour Championship and the highlight of the Race to Dubai and the European Tour season. Designed by the legendary Greg Norman, the golf course features not one but two distinct courses.
The 18-hole Earth is a magnificent undulating course inspired by the parks of Europe and North America. The 18-hole Fire course is a desert course with a links-type layout. The course features several natural obstacles, all based on the elements of fire, earth, water and wind.
Although the course offers plenty of challenges for players of all levels, less experienced golfers may find the course’s numerous bunkers difficult. The final holes, in particular, are tricky and surrounded by water.
Trump International Golf Club Dubai
Located in the heart of the luxurious DAMAC Hills complex, Trump International Golf Club offers a remarkable championship-level links-style indoor golf course. Designed by renowned architect Gil Hanse, most famous for his work on the 2016 Rio Olympics, the course features nine holes.
With its spectacular design, Trump International Golf Club features undulating fairways inspired by the natural contours of the desert. Strategically placed bunkers dot the course, while some holes offer an extra challenge with the presence of bodies of water. This course offers a unique golfing experience, suitable for all levels of play, and is also floodlit to enable enthusiasts to play in the evening.
